June 13, 2025|Attending the Young Producers & Filmmakers Mixer in Beijing

On June 13th, I had the pleasure of attending the Young Producers & Filmmakers Mixer in Beijing, co-hosted by Youhug Media and Lightseeking Pictures.

The event brought together emerging voices from across the film industry—producers, directors, and creatives—offering a space to connect, exchange ideas, and explore potential collaborations.

As an independent filmmaker currently navigating both directing and cinematography, it was refreshing to be in a room filled with like-minded storytellers. We discussed everything from project development to the evolving landscape of independent film production in China and beyond. I was especially inspired by the passion and openness of everyone involved, and by the sense that we are all part of a growing community pushing boundaries in different ways.

Big thanks to the organizers for creating such a thoughtful and engaging space. It reminded me how important these moments of real connection are—especially in an industry that often feels fragmented. I left the event with new insights, creative sparks, and hopefully, the beginning of some exciting future collaborations.

Looking forward to telling more grounded and emotionally resonant stories, and continuing the conversation.
